Yarning Circle

This year National Reconciliation Week is being celebrated from 27thMay until 3rd June. The theme this year is - "It's time to change it up".

You may nave noticed that the front corner of our school has been 'changed up' over the past months. Thanks to a dedicated group of our Indigenous parents, led by Mrs Jo Dorante, the corner has been transformed into a Yarning Circle for all of our school community to share.

Mrs Dorante was successful in securing a grant from Thiess which was used to buy much of the materials needed in the construction. A grant from Sun Smart contributed to the purchase of the shade sail. Many hours of voluntary time and labour have resulted in the Yarning Circle.

It was officially opened in a ceremony on Wednesday 3rd June, Mabo Day.
