100th Birthday

Today, Monday 23rd March 2015, Mackay North State School is celebrating 100 years of education.

Past and present students, teachers and parents attended a special parade to mark this occasion.

After a speech delivered by our current school principal, Mr Stephen Bobby, time capsules from 1988 (Australia's Bicentenary Year) were opened and the contents explored by students and teachers who had been a part of compiling them.

There was an old school lesson delivered by Mr Ken Stewart as the Principal with the cane before the birthday cake was cut by Esther McNichol (Hamilton) who enrolled at the school in 1928.

A display of school memorabilia for all to see was set up in the school's Activity Room.
